Sorry for the delayed response, I'm not sick any more but I'm still not quite up to speed.
The tabbards are very simple- they're basically a large white square with a head hole (an overgrown button hole) that has a stencil border painted on it, and then a smaller square w/head hole that is the color we use for that holiday. We're using bias tape as edging so we don't need to fuss over hems. The idea is to use them to ID the folks who are leading the ritual, so they should all look similar. Since we're making quite a few, I tried to keep them very, very simple. Even so, It will take qiute a few gatherings to finish them.
An iron is probobly a good idea if we want to iron the fabric prior to cutting it. Sewing machines would be great if you have them. I have all the fabric/bindings/stencil/paint/thread so that's covered.
If we find we like having some semi-regular creative time after the tabbards are finished, we may be able to schedule this as a genereal stitch and bitch, but I really don't think we'll be at that point for a while.
Thanks for all the help, and see you all tonight!
