Don't feel like camping this Saturday?

If you don't feel like dealing with the rain, the cold, or the outhouse at Highland Farms, come to the May Queen Festival at Cedar Light Grove.  This will be for members only.  Bring your own snacks and drinks. $5 for the cauldron.  $20 for non-members (thus making them members).

Simply paying $20 to go to a party, does not make someone a member,  They must fill out a membership form, and submit it.  If non members want to attend, I think thye need to join first, not at the door.  I will check this, but this is my opinion. If this is a members only party, then only current members should attend. I also feel that since there will be drinking, only those over 21 (and prove it) should be allowed to attend.

That's right, I forgot the "must attend three high rites" requirement.  Since I'm using the member database, the people in it will have attended the necessary high rites and expired, or will not have met the three high rite requirement.

Do you mean the Highland Farms Beltane Campout, or the Mayqueen Party this Saturday?  For details about the campout, click here: http://www.witchvox.com/vn/vn_detail/dt_ev.html?a=uspa&id=49922 or here: http://www.geocities.com/highland_farm_community/beltaine07.html.

For the party, since I am a member, you are welcome to be my guest.

This really should have been discussed with me privately when I first proposed the event via email to the Witan.

The drinking probably shouldn't be an issue.  Since Jesse is a member of the Grove and has signed the short-term lease that states no one under the age of 21 will be given alcohol.  I do not feel we should restrict this even to ages 21 and over.

If this is a members only event, yes it should be members only, which means that simply paying a $20 door fee does not make them a member.

If it's not a members only event, then the membership requirement is moot, and it would just be a plain old $20 door fee.  (Obviously we'd need clarification on which it is).

Jesse has taken responsibility for this event, and as long as all the tenants in the short term agreement are followed, and he as a Grove member is present, he should be fine.

Bah, I just saw your post about the flyer that it is members only.  So that clears that up.

So yes, it would have to be current registered members only.  And the alcohol issue is covered by the short-term agreement, so minors should be allowed, as long as they do not drink.  And all children under 18 have a legal guardian etc (insert typical lease stuff here).

Deirdre had a good question.  I remember us talking about it before.  A member is allowed one guest at such events?  This doesn't seem covered by the STRA.

Hey Jesse, was a time ever posted for this event?  I work 9-6 but could theoretically stop by later.
