Highland Farm Sponsorship
« on: March 18, 2007, 01:14:48 PM »
An Email from Ed:
Quote
I am not sure what Highland Farm will be doing for the warmer
weather of 2007 at this point. The one thing Dee and I have agreed
on is that we will open the farm up to those that have or may wish
to be sponsors of the 2007 season.

We also agreed that we do not want to go through what we did last
year in planning so many events and creating a situation for
ourselves that was overwhelming to type the least and in the end was
not helping to carry into the future to sustain Highland Farm. We
also do not want to burden the few that came here and gave 110% of
themselves at the expense of the many to do it again!

So where do we go from here?

We would like to know who wishes to be sponsors for 2007. I am not
sure who is out there that would wish to spend much time here with
all of the other events, organizations, gatherings, etc. in the
local region that will soon fill up the calendar.

We saw in the first part of the year 2006 many people talk about all
the great things to plan for Highland Farm for the year only to
watch as time went on to not happen for the most part with any
meaningful effort because so many other great things were happening!
I do know that it is useless to compete with them here because in
the end, we would have been better off not to have scheduled most of
the events, gatherings, etc. here as it was in 2006... it was just
not worth the time and energy to sacrifice such! It is not even
worth the cost of insurance to protect us and our home for 2007 to
do it again!

The bottom line... if you wish to be a sponsor for the 2007 season
here at Highland Farm... let us know!
http://www.geocities.com/highland_farm_community/information.html
Send us an email to
highland@netrax.net
...and mark the subject line 2007 Highland Farm Sponsorship.

Let others that you know that may not be on this list and that also
wish to be sponsors for 2007 to send us an email. We will give
this process a week or so and depending on the response, will
proceed accordingly.

I will also be sending out other emails to different lists, groups
and individuals (sorry for cross-post) to see what interest there is
in sponsorship for 2007 and as it all develops try to make a final
decision on what will be 2007 here at Highland Farm.

I suspect once the new sponsorship for 2007 is determined, we will
be scheduling a meeting of those sponsors to proceed from there.

Peace, Ed...

What would be the benefits of sponsorship?  Is he looking for individual sponsors or group sponsors?

Sponsorship information is on this website, including pricing.  He's just looking for an amount of interested sponsors in general.

Is the Witan considering sponsoring Highland Farms?  Are they a 501c3?

We have sponsored them before, if there were enough interested members (there weren't, and I doubt there will be this year).  And no.

I plan to either sponsor, as an individual or as part of a group.
I really enjoy the Full Moon gatherings.

Yeah, I will probably do a personal sponsorship.  They could use the money.

I think its $35 per person and then $5 per person per night when camping.

If you are not a sponsor, then its $10 per person per night.

Check the website to be sure.
I know they paperwork was almost together last year to become a non-profit org.  I don't know where it stands right now.

So sponsorship doesn't get you anything special, just a discount on per night pricing?

The last I heard, and its not cast in stone, was that H.F.  would be open to sponsors whenever they wanted to come up this year but only open to others on set dates for open events.  And yes you get the discount on price, $5 per person per night can add up over the summer.  Esp if there are 2 or 3 of you.  In my case, if Duncan wants to bring a friend, he needs to pay the friend's rate of $10 per night unless he wants to pay for an extra sponsorship at the beginning.  I should talk to him about that.

It just a really nice place to go camp and get away from the "static" in the city for the weekend.  I am tending the garden in front of the coffee nook again this year.  I'll be trying to plant some vegis that hopefull the goats and the deer won't eat all of.
