Sorry this is a bit late in the month, but I have pulled together a lot of opportunities for August and September.

Plankton Monitoring Studies.  A great opportunity for science-minded individuals to contribute to monitoring and research at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center. Overview:  Our plankton citizen science project is a great opportunity for science-minded individuals to contribute to monitoring and research at the Center. Help is needed with collection, identification, and analysis of plankton samples. Interested individuals should contact the Center for introductory training at 410-612-1688.  Location: Anita C. Potomac Stewards River Cleanup Join Team Potomac at Fletcher's Cove as we do our part to clean up the Potomac River.  Overview:  Enjoy the summer sun while giving back to your hometown river! Join Team Potomac at Fletcher's Cove as we do our part to clean up the Potomac River. Jug Bay Free Canoe River Clean Up.  Have fun on the water and help clean up the Patuxent River. Overview:  Have fun on the water and help clean up the Patuxent River. We will paddle the Patuxent River and Western Branch picking up trash along the way. Prompt start time. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, a lunch, and closed-toe shoes that can get wet.  Location:  Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. 1361 Wright on Rd.  Lothian, MD 20711 (410) 741-9330
