Yesterday we held our bi-annual elections for CedarLight Grove, ADF.  16 out of 17 eligible voters cast their vote, and our new Witan is as follows starting Yule:

Senior Druid: Wayne Keysor
Vice Senior Druid: Ashley Bryner
Scribe: Taryn Lyon
Pursewarden: Crystal Groves

There may be additional appointed Witan after Yule, but these are our new elected Witan.

Remember, if you wish to vote in the 2013 elections you must meet the following membership requirements.  Also please note that these requirements may be updated as the bylaws are revised by the new Witan:

- Attend 2 business/Witan meetings (the entire meeting)
- Attend at least 3 High Rites (the entire ritual)
- Owe no funds to CLG
- Be a current CLG and ADF member
- Be in good standing with the Grove

These must be done between Samhain and Samhain of that election year to qualify.

Congratulations to our new Witan!

I appreciate everyone's vote, and I hope we can do good things together over the next 2 years.  As Senior Druid, I see my and the witan's role as ensuring that all the practical and business tasks of CedarLight are performed competently, honestly, and openly so that the members and the general public can reach their spiritual goals.  I want CedarLight to be a center of spiritual excellence that will help people to live rich and fulfilling lives.

Towards that end, my main business tasks, as I see them, are:

1) to keep the grove financially solvent and physically together, in the sense of keeping the building together

2) update the bylaws and policies of CLG, and keep them updated, so that we are on firm legal footing with everything we do.

3) Maintain good records that are transparent and easily accessible by the membership.

4) Ensure that the bylaws and policies are followed. In this way, I hope to create a welcoming environment for spiritual activity

5) Eliminate completely, or make serious steps towards eliminating, the lead in the building.  The lead seriously reduces our flexibility with the building and costs us much money and man-hours. It also puts us at risk of devastating lawsuits.

6) Towards this end, raise enough  money to achieve this goal

7) Be a good steward of our resources, using them judiciously to enable spiritual development for our members when possible.

Not sexy, I know, but the stuff of good administrators. I cannot guarantee success in every circumstance and situation, and I know I will make mistakes, but I promise that you will always have my best effort.

A note on communication.  I do not use facebook. I treat facebook as your own personal thoughts, which are none of my business.  If you have an issue or problem, please communicate with me directly. Cool.

Be excellent to each other.

Congrats to all elected!  I look forward to the next two years, may they be awesome. ;D

Wayne's inaugural address(post) sets a good tone.  I second the new motto.
