Title: CedarLight Huzzah's 2011
Post by: Crystal on January 30, 2011, 09:05:43 AM
Huzzah to those of us who went out bowling last night, good times were had by all.

Huzzah to Ashley and Phoenix for going in early to shovel the Grove driveway and walkways out this morning.  It warms my heart to see such devotion in helping to maintain and take care of even the mundane tasks that are the hardest to get people to do :)

Absolutely, I would have been there earlier but the snow shoveling thing just didn't even enter my mind.

Huzzah to helpers, too! Caryn, Garren, (ha! it rhymes!) Jim and Bennu also helped shovel when they arrived and help me unstuck Caca Fuego.

I was planning on a shovel under the assumption that Edna was as clear as my road but then I got paged Saturday night and didn't get to sleep till after 4 AM.  I'll aim for next time.

Hussah to Phoenix, Debbie, Kalen, Ashley & Me for cleaning up the grove yesterday and decorating for Imbolc.  The Grove looks great.

Hussah to everyone who showed up for the journey last night.  There were 9 of us.

The total amount in donations and auction items brought in last night was exactly $600.  Not all of it has been paid yet, obviously, but over half already has, so once we get the rest in that is a VERY good amount we brought in for Imbolc :)

Wow!
I saw the two swords, an owl statue and a bowl, but what else was auctioned?
Title: Re: CedarLight Huzzah's 2011

A pin that Mia made, some canned goods that Wayne donated, a wine set that I donated, two rites of worship books, and a calendar Ashley made :)

If you itemize your taxes, don't forget to let us know if any of those items were yours so they count as in-kind donations for 2011 taxes.

Huzzah to those who were able to come out for an unscheduled work day at the grove today.  Bennu, Ashley, Mia, Rob and Debbie.

The stone circle is finished except for the grass or ground cover plants and a few finishing touches Ashley wishes to do.  It looks amazing!  Feels amazing, too.

The sanctuary now has ground cover plants that hopefully will take root and fill in/handle foot traffic that the grass could not.  Still need more of them, though.  We planted Irish Moss and Blue Star Creeper.

Huzzah to those working on the main altar inside.  It has to be seen to be appreciated.

Huzzah to inspiration and labors of love.

Big  BIG BIG

Hussahs and Hell Yeahs (I'm feeling redneck) to my tribe today.

4 people went to the dump and shoveled free mulch and filled 3 pickup trucks and multiple trashcans.  Hussah to Bennu, Garen, Khaos & Betony.

Phoenix and Dannielle <<waded>> into the swamp to pull 3 large leaf bags full of ivy.

Zuki arrived and everybody spread mulch for a couple of hours.

And Caryn cursed the shower stall upstairs...er I mean caulked and sealed the top so that maybe...just maybe...the bathroom will be ready to paint soon.

Hussah!!!!!!!!

It was Tivis and he did it with the little old electric mower which is even more amazing.  Bennu said he would come by Mon or Tue and finish it.

Yes we do Debbie and it was knee deep.  John's dog fertilizes well.

Huzzah to everyone who helped to make the midsummer high rite a succeess!

To Wayne in the planning, prayers, inspiration and the beautiful Crane that set the focus of the outside altar.
To Bennu for the message of the wands and crane bag creations and tiki torches.
To Caryn for the songs, the flowers and devoted upkeep of the sanctuary after a very trying week both emotionally and physically.
To Aurora for the flowers in the front and upkeep of the herbs there.
To Ashley who led the journey the night before, arrived at noon on Saturday and was the last one out after the ritual, which was after midnight, then came back the next morning for WWTOO, and this not long after escaping from the hospital for pnemonia.  And also to her beautiful altar to Aine.
To Crystal for her drumming and singing.
To all who helped clear the sanctuary of metal to prep the sanctuary and the wood for the fire the week or so before.
To everyone who brought the fantastic food.
To everyone who helped to clean up.
To everyone that should be mentioned but I forgot to mention.

It takes a tribe.  We are a tribe.  Huzzah.

Huzzahs for today...

1) To Jim for mowing the entire yard, front, back and for using the bag attachment on the mower.
2) To Aurora and Jackie for a splendid job on washing dishes and going through the parsonage refrigerator catching and relocating science project that grew feet and teeth.
3) To Crystal for running the vaccum in both side of the grove space.
4) To Susan for bringing whistles, lemons and peppermint sticks.

Thanks muchly you guys.  The grove would not function without you and all of its members.

HUSSAH to Debbie, Betony, and Khaos for coming up and helping me with Apt B today.  We got the bathroom primed, the bathroom door painted, trim work touched up, the living room got it's second coat, the radiators got a final coat (and I finally think they might pass), the vent cover painted and put back up, the old curtain rods with stripped out screws were removed and painted, and the kitchen floor was scrubbed and 3 coats of wax put down.
HUSSAH to the FOLK!!!!

It was fun! If I didn't have to go home to make dinner, I would have stayed longer.

Thanks, Khaos, for taking care of my brush for me.

Caryn, you forgot how the shower is spotless now, too.  The apartment looks fantastic!  Night and day from what it was.

So when is the next workday?

I would like to give out a great big huge HUZZAH to everyone who helped for the high rite this weekend:

Huzzah to Debbie and Kelly for being fantastic firewardens despite most dubious weather conditions!

Huzzah to Caryn for a wonderful Cornholing competition! And for mowing the lawn and a ton of other things that I'm sure I'm forgetting!

Huzzah to the ritual team (Ashley, Aurora, Garen, Caryn, Wayne, Debbie, Rebecca...did I miss anyone?) for some really wonderful poetry and prose! It was really ace!

Huzzah to Ashley for helping me with planning, mediating things while I was away, doing more things than I can possibly count or recall, and just generally being all around awesome!

Huzzah to everyone to donated and helped with the Silent Auction, it was wildly successful!

Huzzah to our psychics (Bennu, Ashley, Aurora, and Mia) for a wonderfully successful Psychic Faire!

Huzzah to everyone who helped and aided with the clean up! I know there were a lot of people helping out with washing dishes and getting supplies put away (as well as set up!) on Saturday and Sunday and it was so great!

And huzzah to everyone who came out and stayed with us through the storms! I think it was totally worth it.

Hussah to Phoenix for braving the muggy weather and mosquitoes with me  to do some weeding up at the Grove yesterday.  Manannan's crane altar has been mulched with flowers planted and about 2/3 of the front walk garden has been weeded.

Huzzah to inspirations!

Huzzah to all those involved in the Samhain ritual that did NOT disappoint in any way.  We ran out of chairs for all the people who came!

I am sorry I didn't get to help clean up cause when I was leaving I was so tired.  I almost sideswiped a parked car on the way home because I was so tired.  I was struggling with it from about 9pm on.  Today I woke up with migraine and being SO SORE.

Huge HUZZAH to EVERYONE who helped Caryn and I with the Yule rite and festivities.  From the planning, the pre cleaning and prep of Apt B, collecting of wood,  the prayers, the Yule tree and decorations all about, the members dinner and gift exchange, the inside altar, going to the leather shop and craft shops together, the music, the involvement in parts of the rite, the advice and guidance to me, the fire warden and those who tended the fires thru the night, the Candles of Virtue that were kept going quietly and beautifully thru the night, the food, the clean up, the role playing game, and the auction.  If I have missed anything, please forgive.  So many things and so many who took part.  It felt like a very good rite, the omen was definitely a hope-filled one, and we raised alot of money for the Grove.

Prior to the Longest Night, we honored Tyr and Odin by visiting and supporting the Wolf Sanctuary in Pa.  This was a bridge between Samhain and Yule so it also honored our charity for Yule, raising over $700 (correct me if wrong) for the sanctuary.

Huzzah to everyone indeed.  You know who you are.  Be proud.  This was monumental.
