Title: Year Long Fundraiser
Post by: Crystal on November 24, 2009, 06:45:41 AM
I'm going to start putting up the tally during thanksgiving break.

We just got our first donation from some folks in Idaho who saw our ad in this quarters Oak Leaves (inside front cover).

Huzzah!

I heard that CLG put out a cookbook before, but how about marketing it on Amazon.com?  One would have to get it copyrighted and all, but it would reach a larger audience.  Anyone searching with the word "Druid" will have it come up.   Title could simply be "Cooking with Druids".

We had some folks interested in starting up a cook-book, but it never came into fruition.  I think the latest attempt was by Danielle who actually started a thread under "Kitchen Witches" section to compile recipes.

If folks want to try and take this on again, I'd be all for helping set it up for being sold either on cafepress.com or lulu.com or something.

If you want to go the druid route, we could compile some traditional and modern celtic/irish dishes.  That might be something to think about :)

We now have a tally on our website of total donations since September (so technically this is going to be a year and a few months long fundraiser).

You can view it on the top right here: http://www.cedarlightgrove.org

This does not include November's donation totals, which I am going to bug Caryn for now cause it looks like they were never posted to the forum.

Also, something to be proud of....if all 21 RSVP's for the workshop attend this weekend, we'll have another $500 to add to that total :)  I'm about to send out additional reminders about it so maybe we'll get more than that :D

Total workshop participants (including presenters): 24
Total no-shows: 4
Total brought in from workshop alone: $435

Total brought in with donations towards the fundraiser today (including workshop): $475

Total brought in with donations + in-kind + membership = $663

Our new fundraiser total: $3377.37 raised so far :D (only counts the $435 above)

I wanted to let everyone know that we got another check donation from a prisoner at the Coyote Correctional Institute to support our year-long fundraiser.  I am so incredibly touched by this gesture, I have sent him a letter personally thanking him.

Our totals till March 1st, including the Reiki workshop from yesterday, is over $4300 raised so far.  Still working towards that $20k goal by the end of the year :)

Our small Ostara auction brought in $185 :)  I will add that to our year-long fundraiser total now, and then the remaining March donations once Caryn posts the total at the beginning of April.

BTW, I don't know if you are interested in the in-kind donations but they have also been significant in the last few months.

Once I get April's totals from Caryn, I'm sure we'll probably be over $6k, and with May's we may even be hitting or over $7k :)  Not quite half-way there, so I'm going to have to step up my game I think.

I'll post totals when I have them :D

$6595.22 raised so far, but that doesn't include any additional raffle tickets I've sold, which I will count up this weekend.  Still will be less than $6700 though.

Don't forget to get your raffle ticket purchases in! :)

IF I read Caryn's pursewarden report right, our current total for this fundraiser is $8078.22, so we are almost half-way there :)

We are less than $500 to the halfway mark of our year-long fundraiser, at $9534.22.

An updated total from September which does include all money from Mabon workshops/auctions (even tho not paid yet): $10559.22

I haven't counted Will and Caryn's insulation donation yet either, simply because I don't know whether they donated the money or paid for the work, and I'm not counting in-kind donations.

That was a $3000 cash donation to the grove in May.  It's all much easier to track that way.

We are currently at $15891.22 towards our $20,000 year-long fundraiser.  I don't know that we'll make another $4k by the end of December, but we are certainly close enough to be REALLY proud of what we've done.

Would it be too wierd if I brought a few items I have for sale to the Grove and if anyone wants to buy the proceeds could go to the Grove?

Of course not, bring whatever you like and we'll get it sold somehow :)  Just let me know if you want any of the items back if they don't sell, cause otherwise we'll be donating them to charity.

Just a general note to all folks though, please ask permission before bringing items to the Grove.  We've had people drop off boxes of non-labeled stuff at the Grove, most of it junk.  We are not a junk disposal.  If you have good items to bring in to support the Grove, GREAT!  But please don't empty out your junk drawers at your temple :D

We are currently at $16427.22.  I plan to give $100 next paycheck and will be doing a monthly pledge for 2011.  Anyone else? :)

I am going to be matching Debbie's pledge of 10%, I just have to make sure I am including my in-kind donations in my calcs.

I can't always be there to help out, so this is my way to make sure I am in some way.  I see others  give a lot of their time, others help a lot on Sundays and high rites, and others help spiritually.  I know this thread is about monetary needs for bills, but just wanted new people to understand there are many ways to support your grove and all are welcomed and equally appreciated.
