We should probably squeeze in a wkshop on the Fall Equinox holidays.

And/or the start of a discussion of the virtues and how they apply to everyday life and our interactions with our grove.

I kinda don't see the carburator workshop happening any time soon but I could be wrong.

Also, Mark (Hussah Mark!) brought a brand new DVD player for the grove on Saunday.
--He checked out all the old ones and none of them were working--
So we can schedule movie nights or workshops around a video presentation if we like.

Someone has to volunteer for a workshop before I'll schedule it, I'm afraid.

This schedule is pending who is willing to volunteer to teach workshops, so if it's all I got then it's all I got.

I did enjoy the workshop on Lughnasadh, a workshop on the Fall equinox holidays would be useful. As would a workshop on the Virtues, because I have no idea where to even start on those essays....O.o;;;

Speaking of scheduling things.  While the holes in the sheet rock may be patched and a 1st coat of spackle put on them.  It does not mean its ready to be painted.  Tracy said she was off on Friday and could come up to the grove if someone could let her in.

I don't have anything specific planned for that day right now but it depends on how Will is doing and whether or not he wants to come along.  I hate to leave him here with no way to go anywhere.

I don't know if anyone else would be interested in a work day?  I can surely find things for people to paint or do  ::)

I am willing to do a workshop, or more accurately lead a discussion, on the virtues if there is a demand.  Just give me some advanced warning so I can prepare.

I have never done a workshop before, but as long as I can find where I put my notes from the class I took on this the 9th will be fine. Give me a day or two to look through a box and my ever growing pile of papers...

Hey Liz, how's everything looking as far as your workshop on the 9th goes?  Don't feel pressured into doing one then, I just want to make sure I get something in that slot if possible :)

I have a suggestion for a workshop on Celtic Lore via Ashley and Tarren.  Just a suggestion.  I think they are a font of information.

A font of information, really? Lol!! Well, Ashley knows more than I do, but I'm sure we could come up with a workshop covering like the Book of Invasions, or we can do research if people are interested in anything else....Shall have to ask Ash if she's interested!! She loves lore especially.

(And pssst, its 'Taryn'.  ;D No worries, people get it wrong all the time. I grew up being called Karen by most of my teachers.)

I was talking to Ashley today and we'd really love to do some workshops on Celtic legends and myths like Jack suggested. Maybe a series if enough people are interested?

Stemming from mythological workshops, I would particularly like to focus something on the lore of individual deities according to academic research and *reliable* scholarly texts, based on archaeological and anthropological findings.

I'm personally not a fan of a lot of the NewAgey books places like Barnes and Noble have to offer...and find that many of the "Celtic Studies" books found beneath that descriptor have shady references and are based on the hear-say of others who may or may not be qualified. Now, even those types of books have their place, and often reflect modern attitudes (kindof a sociological overview of modern pagan beliefs)...but I prefer reading original sources and what some people feel to be 'dry' material for my information. Such a workshop would be based upon this sort of information with references included.

This would also assist with the discussion of appropriate offerings to deities which can be added to ritual planning discussion, as mentioned by Caryn and Crystal. If there is a space available for a workshop in October, I could have one ready by then. (That's how far ahead I plan, btw.) I will repost later if necessary.

With regards to July and August, if there is space available, Ryn and I could definitely put together some Irish Mythological workshops.

Behold my long post of yikes.

So we have Wayne for a Virtues Discussion/Workshop

And Caryn for a 2nd Harvest Season Workshop (I don't know if that will include the Welsh Mabon/Modron myth or not.  Depends on how much information there is to cover.)
