Eh, I rescheduled my birthday guy's snow-cancelled party for then. I'll be having fun watching four or five sugar-high kids destroy Jeepers . . .
-
Z,
Some of use where talking about after the first movie making the second Rocky Horror! I still haven't heard anything about the first.
-
I was hoping Caryn would field the question, but she must be busy. So it will basically be anything that we reach consensus on.
-
And I have hoping some of the dvd's I ordered from Amazon would be here by now...sigh I idea was to show a movie that had 'something' to do with druidry/paganism so that we could talk about it afterwards. This could be serious or not-so-serious.
OK, here's what I have in my dvd library
Serious
In Search of Ancient Ireland 170 minutes
--3 parts Heroes, Saints, & Warlords
In Search of Myths and Heros 2 DVDs with 2 shows on each ~55 min each
--The Queen of Sheba
--Arthur, Once and Future King
--Shangri-La
--Jason and the Golden Fleece
King Arthurs Britain 147min An archaeologist traces the legend back to its origins with lots of evidence as to what was really going on in Britain after the Romans left.
What the bleep do we know? 108 min Here's something to make you question the nature of reality...and magic.
I have a 6 tape set on the celts
I have a 6 tape set on the Kaballah (its watching a lecture, you gotta want to watch this one)
Asoka 150 min
Based on the story of an Indian King about the 3rd century BC. To expland his borders, he waged one of the bloddiest wars in history. In the end, once the devastation he had wrought confronted him, he dedicated his life to Buddhism and became a mythic figure in Hindu and Buddhist stories. (Its in subtitles)
The Descent of Inanna. Story teller recounts the Summarian Mythic journey.
Dreamkeeper, Native American. An aging story teller and his troubled grandson travel across country while the granfather tells legends of his people.
A midsummer night's dream, 1999 version w/ Michelle Pfeiffer. Very pagan
Less Serious
Merlin, 1998 w/ Sam Neil Has more of the celtic folklore (with lots of liberties taken) in it than previous movies.
Son of Mask, This is a must for Loki fans. They have Loki and the chaos that travels with him down pat.

Any thoughts?

Is anybody planning on coming up?
-
I was thinking about leaving in a just a bit... If no one is there I will go home.
-
I just got by birthday present to myself today so we have some more 4th Friday dvd's to choose from. They are each 50 min and produced by the History Channel.
-Salem Witch Trails
-The Inquisition
-Viking Explorers
-Gods & Goddesses
-The Greek Gods
-The digitally remasterd Robin of Sherwood, all 13 episodes. If you've never seen this, its VERY pagan. Robin and his folk are worshippers of Hern the Hunter who makes regular appearances.
Well I know what I'm going to do today! ;D

Thanks to everyone who came out: Caryn, Mark, Renee, Jodee, and Catt. We watched part one of "Arthur, Once and Future King"
Next Fourth Friday will be guided meditation to Apollo.
Stay tuned for future movie night announcements.
