There will be a discussion group on Friday March 24th 7pm.

Topics:  Well, I was thinking about discussion "styles" of meditation, as opposed to working out problems/difficulties doing meditation since that's sort of a dedicant topic, or Caryn has some videos on the ancient Celts we could watch, or anything else folks would like to suggest.

I don't have a problem with us brainstorming about grant ideas, but I think that since there is a smaller group on Fridays than Sundays you may also need to discuss it there, since we don't want to apply to do something and then not have anyone come to do whatever we've been funded to do.  Also, I think the ideas would have to be run past the Witan prior to applying for them. Just my 2c.

Sorry I'm going to miss it - Gryff and I both got that rotten head cold that's been going around, so we will pass for Friday.

See you all on Sunday though!

The box of rattle "handles" we cut for Yule is still in the living room somewhere.

Well as far as supplies for Brid's crossess.  I have a bunch of colored pipe cleaners.  Good for making the crosses but not good if you want to offer them to the fire.  I have some twisted paper but will go out today to see if I can find some more.  I know last year I had problems finding it.  See, I kinda like to make new crosses each year and offer the old year's into the fire but pipe cleaners don't work that way.  Now if folks wanted to try the actual wheat weaving of crosses, we could do that but folks would either need to bring their own or we would have to try to buy a bunch which would increase the price.

If folks have extra wire ties like the kind that come in trash bags and the like.  We might be able to use them.  Extra ribbon of different colors would be helpfull.

On the rattles, I think Rhi (or Rick) said that beans worked best.  (Do we have beans?) I have some gorilla glue and I know we have glue guns at CLC.   I wonder if he want to try to decorate the plastic rattles and if so what would we decorate them with?  I would think that most paints would peel right off.  I'd imagine that you could use colored electrical tape.

I think is everyone agree's to throw at least $5 into the caldron we should be OK.  Most of what I have is left over from last year.  Now next year might be another story.

Ahh....details.  This Friday at 7pm, and I suppose it depends on your attitude and your definition of fun!  We had a good time at the last discussion group- its meant to be really laid back and informal.

There ia a discussion group meeting Friday.  We will be making rattles and brigit's crosses (donation?).  Up for discussion will be the myth/symbolism/folklore surrounding milk and honey (and possibly other foodstuffs).

Bring yourself and whoever else you can snag.  There may be a slight donation required for the crosses.....Caryn?
