Pagan Pride Day and Vedic Workshop

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

CedarLight Grove is hosting a Vedic Workshop on the Five Fold Path (Yadna, Dann, Tapa, Karma, Swadhyaya): A holistic Lifestyle for Peace, Prosperity, Health, Happiness and Clean Environment

A teacher from the “Institute for Studies in Vedic Sciences” in India will be teaching this workshop at the Grove on September 23rd at 6:30pm.

The lecture will also include information on Agnihotra (sacred Fire). He will demonstrate how holy fire can be performed by everyone with ease on a daily basis.

It is free. The goal is to bring this knowledge to as many people as possible because a happy individual lease to a happy society. However CedarLight Grove will be accepting donations to support the Grove and to help us to continue to bring speakers and workshops to CedarLight.

You must RSVP to attend because we are limiting the attendance to 50. Email: clg[@]cedarlightgrove.org to attend

.

I’d also like to mention that CedarLight Grove was very well-represented at the Baltimore Pagan Pride Day this year. One of our members not only organized the entire event by herself, but another member organized a canned food drive by herself, and yet another held her own booth for the Student Pagan Alliance at Towson University. We also held our own booth for CedarLight Grove. Huzzah to all of our members for making CedarLight proud and getting involved!

Wood Burnt Offerings Before Ritual

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Before our Beltane Ritual on May 10th we will be having a wood burning activity of offerings for the ritual fire as well as offerings to take home and place on our altars.

Ritual begins at 6:30pm but the wood burning will begin around 2 or 3pm. Wood will be provided, but if you have a special piece you’d like to burn and carve, feel free to bring that too!

Don’t forget to bring a dish of food to share after ritual for the potluck! Remember, we are trying to keep our ritual revels sustainable, so we are trying not to have plastic bottles or too much trash. Reusable containers are ideal. Guests will also be asked to wash their own dishes.

Spring 2008 Charity Event: Blankets for the Lakota People

Saturday, January 26th, 2008
Lakota Sioux Charity at CedarLight Grove, ADF

CedarLight Grove, ADF is collecting blankets and warm clothes for the Lakota people in Wounded Knee, South Dakota. Garry Rowland, a Lakota Elder from the Wounded Knee Visitor’s Center has been corresponding with CedarLight Grove, and says many of his people need warm blankets during the cold months.

From now until March 22nd, at the time of our Ostara High Rite, we are collecting blankets and warm clothes at CedarLight Grove to be delivered to the Lakota on Pine Ridge Reservation. Please contribute what you can to help our native peoples.

All blankets and/or clothing and jackets can be used, but must be clean with no pet stains/odors. They must be in good working order with no holes or tears in the fabric.

Washington-Baltimore Area Pagans:
Our Senior Druid, Crystal Groves, will be at WABA-PLC this year. We’ve had requests from the pagan community coming from out of town to the conference, if we could collect blankets at WABA-PLC as it is the only time they will be in town. Crystal will be more than happy to fill up her mustang with blankets on both days at WABA-PLC for donations.

Any questions can be directed to crystal _at_ cedarlightgrove.org.
