Our tree planting drive over the past year has been very successful and as we wrap up one tree planting fundraiser, the witan has voted to start another. The 31st is the final day for the current fundraiser and the next starts on Aug 1st in honor of Lugh and Tailtue.
I recently go this from Arbor Day
An average of 200 wildfires rage across the country every day. And every day, those fires claim about 19,178 acres of land (more than 242 football fields an hour). Some of the land is burned so severely that natural regeneration of the trees and plant life is not possible.
The U.S. Forest Service is already facing a backlog of more than 700,000 acres of forest land in need of replanting. It is critical that we redouble our efforts to replant these forests. And your continued generosity is needed now more than ever.
You see, this isn’t just about trees. The trees we plant together in forests across America and around the globe provide immeasurable benefits. They provide the necessities of life itself: clean air, clean drinking water, cooler temperatures, and habitat for countless wildlife.
The need to replant is at a historic level, and we simply cannot replace these trees fast enough without your help. Please don’t wait. Can we count on your support today?
